Draw Closer to the LORD by Paying Attention to the Subtlety

 Jesus is the A and Z. The beginning and ending. He who is, who was and who is to come. He came into this world to die on the Cross of Calvary and shed His blood for the remission of your sins. He was buried. God raised Jesus up from the dead three days later. Jesus and God the Father are one. Believe and you will not perish, but have everlasting life.




How to draw closer to the LORD, when you do not realize you're sinning.


James 4:8



8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.


2 Corinthians 3:11


3But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.



The wisdom to drawing closer to the LORD is to pay attention to the subtlety. 

If you do not know if what you're doing is serving the LORD, here's how to know.


1. Pray.

If you pray to the LORD, you are not sinning.


2. Ask if you're doing what you're doing as unto the LORD.


3. See, if you're serving the LORD, by spreading the gospel, or if you feel uncomfortable. If something feels wrong, there automatically something that's not of the LORD in the situation.


Colossians 3:23-24

23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;



24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.



1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

16 Rejoice evermore.



17 Pray without ceasing.


18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.







Examples: 


Is eating of the LORD? Something is off. I can't tell what it is.

Maybe you're being glutenous.

Maybe you forgot to pray before eating.

Maybe you just need to go through longsuffering first.

Turn to the LORD and pray for answer. Ask the LORD for faith and wisdom.



Examples 2:

Is fighting racism wrong?

Are you trying to serve the LORD, or are you trying to please men. What is the reason you are doing for? Are you shying away from mentioning religion to get along with people? Are you skipping talking about religion for "peace sake"?




Example three 3:

Why are you watching that T.V. show?

Does that T.V. show glorify God? Is it something you're using to serve the LORD, or is it something you're just watching for entertainment, and not as unto the LORD?

Romans 14:23

23And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
